Kawasaki GPz250
GPz250 Story UMG Aug '02 Wales '98 Trip Solar Eclipse '99 Arran '99 My first bike (£600 1998), currently suffering twisted forks and awaiting a new loom. Not moved since about 2001 :( This is what started it all off! The most exciting off all the bikes in some ways. |
Kawasaki z250T Scorpion
Bought for its drive belt (£300 1999) and later cannibalised after several crashes! Unlikely to make a reappearance anytime soon, but still needs to be SORNed... grrr! |
Yamaha XJ600 XJ600 Story UMG '03 British Isles '00 Trip Bought from Mike 'any hole's a goal' Smith whilst at uni (£600 2000) for a round britain trip. Stolen from outside my house in Coventry :( never heard from again. Very fast compared to the GPz but a pretty rough example! |
Honda CB400SF
Belgium '07 Trip Bought with a bank loan, from Ken at Spongate motorcycles (£1000 2001). Not as fast as the XJ but very handsome and completely reliable. Still going strong at 90,000 km and now with sidecar! |
Kawasaki z900A4 z900 story Dresden '02 Trip Gibraltar '03 Trip Nordkapp '05 Trip I read too many issues of 'used motorcycle guide' and 'needed' a bike with power, looks, wire wheels and a kick start. (£2000 2003) Pity it had no brakes! In hibernation in Southport awaiting the day I eventually get a garage! |
MZ ETZ251 ETZ251 story MZ Rider Sept '04 John 'O Groats Trip Earned in lieu of payment (£250 2003)! Was a very nice clean example, then i tried to streetfighter it and run it on paraffin. Not turned a wheel for 18 months, to my shame, due to an oil leak. Super fun and pretty nippy, excellent brakes and handling. |
Kawasaki GPZ900R Arran '05 Poland '06 Trip Belgium '07 Trip European Union '07 Trip Netherlands '08 Trip Bosnia '08 Trip So pissed off with the handling and brakes of the mighty z900 I went and bought a low milage GPZ in the hope it would fill the gap but still be old skool (£1600 2005). Almost makes it! Does nearly 50mpg and has taken me to over 20 countries and thrown me off once! |
Kawasaki GPZ900R
Donated (£0 2008) per chance on my 30th birthday by Mark after it was vandalised :( It's taken quite a bit of work but is now very fun. May have to return to normal handlebars for comfort's sake. |
Honda CB400SF with Velorex sidecar France '09 Trip Milan '09 Trip Paid well over the odds for a 1981 Velorex sidecar in a drunken ebay fit (£270 2008). Oh well it came with all the fittings, was clean and in good condition and available the week I wanted it. LOTS OF FUN. May have twisted the swingarm and trying to do the same with the forks :( 30mpg ans scrubbing the tyres away merrily! [Update: tyre scrubbing sorted and bravely travelled in by Tiff!] |
Kawasaki CSR1000 Dusseldorf '09 Trip £1200 on ebay (2009) because I had too much money in my account! Very hard to start off the button, easy if you (have the strength) to push it. Better bars, grips, front brake lever, indicator mounts, sidestand added! Knackered clean air system removed. Comfy, but thirsty (low 30s mpg if pushed), slow (85-90mph max. with pillion and luggage) and drinks oil (1 pint/1000 miles)! Ridden by Gray Jackson. |

Kawasaki GPZ 900 R Sidecar Project GPZ900 Sidecar Build So Far... GPZ900 Sidecar + Matt travel to Nic in Edinburgh The black donated GPZ900 from above is morphing into something else... :o) Piloted by Malik. |

Kawasaki z 440 Ltd Found in southport for £250 (Easter 2010). No battery, so not running, but worth a gamble? Only 9000 believeable miles from new (1982) but quite a bit of surface rust and bulging rust marks under the tank badge. Time will tell! |
