Day 09:
Luxembourg - London

Thursday 31 August 2006

Head out into Luxembourg city with Fe to explore and do some shopping. Buy a litre of multivitsaftenjuicen which later proves to be an erroneous judgement - hooray for autoroute services + toilets! Leave Fe to her exciting new life and head out to Boulogne. Decide to be brave and go via France rather than Belgium. Get scowled at by ancient locals in a bizarre junk shop/cafe/petrol station and then get a puncture for my troubles. Knew I should have gone through Belgium. Luckily my 'crafty plugger' puncture repair device had my tyre fixed and apparently 100mph safe within an amazing 5 minutes! I will never be without one of these again - unbelievably simple device that saved my bacon. Still missed the ferry though and had to go to Calais. £45 later park up next to Nathan who has just done exactly the same thing - except for 6 weeks and nigh on 20K miles on an ratted CB550 four. Alight in Dover, jump a step where the ferry has badly docked, and ride into mist, traffic jams, and London misery. Welcome to the UK. Offer Nathan the sofa as we're both shattered and he has to go to Nottingham. Wave him off in the morning and the adventure is over. 2500 miles, 7 countries, 1 enamoured heart later - it's school on Monday :|
